Now this little boy holds a special place in my heart. I met his Daddy at this tiny Greek Restaurant I worked at in collage, the very same place I met my husband 10 years ago. So we’ve all been friends for a long time. I’ve watched Josh and Claire’s relationship grow over the years, and was so excited after their wedding when they announced they were expecting!! Granted, I wish they had sped things up a little bit and then our boys, CJ and Leo, would have been a little closer in age… but I love them all the same!

Now unfortunately, they decided to move away from Charlotte to Raleigh before they got hitched, but I still made the trips to captured their Gender Reveal, Maternity and Newborn Photos. So of course, when Leo was turning One, I had to make the trip to capture his Cake Smash! And what an eventful trip it was… because I got a flat tire within the first 5 mins of hitting the road. But in the end, I got there safely, and luckily Leo is such a fun, happy little boy, his Cake Smash was smashing success! 🙂

I feel so incredibly lucky to have been able to capture their whole journey from finding out that Leo was in fact going to be a boy at their Gender Reveal, capturing their Maternity Photos before their family grew from two to three, to when Leo finally arrived and I got to take his Newborn Photos. And now, here he is One Year Old, totally rocking his Cake Smash.

(And here’s a little tip Mama shared… she made the cake herself at home and Leo was there watching her bake and frost and decorate the whole time, so when it was time for him to actually get his hand on that bad boy… he was so excited!)
