Hi! I'm Kira, a Charlotte based Newborn Photographer that absolutely loves to capture the beauty of a growing family welcoming a new baby.
As a photographer and a mom of two littles, I've learned the importance of photographing my little ones, even when I barely have time to shower. Balancing life with a new baby can be exhausting, and the time goes by way too fast.
A photograph lets us capture precious moments. Of course, we’re all taking plenty of photos with our phones or digital cameras and that’s great! But a different kind of image is captured when you hire a skilled professional to photograph these special times in your life.
My goal as a photographer is to capture those perfect images for you, down to every detail. A photograph that'll preserve an instant, a memory you’ll look at day after day, year after year, and treasure forever.
I believe my job as a Newborn & Portrait Photographer is to capture the natural beauty of your real family.
I was born outside of Boston and raised in Charlotte, but my heart and soul belong to the mountains. My passion for photography and the mountains came together when I went to Appalachian State University and completed my degree in Technical Photography. Nowadays, when I'm not chasing my little one around, I like to take the time to center myself with yoga, take long hikes with my dogs and husband, and enjoy sunsets on my back deck with good friends and a glass of red wine.
My mom taught me the art of nurturing. She passed away in 2016, two months before my wedding, and left me the daunting task of being the matriarch of my family. I carry her memory with me always and try to spread her loving spirit to everyone I meet and photograph. My mom and I used to watch hummingbirds together when she would paint on her back deck. Now anytime one pops up, I know that she’s stopping by to remind me that life goes on... and that that we shouldn’t waste a second of it.
I found Kira on Instagram by doing a simple hashtag search for maternity photographers in my area. After reviewing her IG pictures and looking at her website, I felt a peace about selecting her for being our photographer. I was thoroughly impressed with the depth of her experience in not only photography but also in childcare.
My family has worked with many photographers, but something is different about Kira. The ease to which she performs her craft is amazing. She doesn’t waste one moment during the session. It’s almost like you are in a motion picture and she is the director. She truly has the gift of directing and managing the flow of the entire shoot. I really didn’t have much of a vision for our maternity and newborn session, yet she was able to capture beautiful moments with my growing family.

Kira made me feel super comfortable considering I was 32 weeks pregnant and did a little more of a risqué shoot.
Timely and easy communication back and forth, took all my ideas to heart and made them happen! Her timing was on point and posing was helpful as I’ve never done a shoot like this before!!
She helped me get in and out of the milk bath tub safely and made sure ( insisted) I had plenty of water and snacks for the way home
I also appreciated her letting me incorporate some of my favorite items from home to include in my shoot!!
Awesome photographer, beautiful studio, excellent references for hair and makeup too!!! Can’t wait to take back little baby and get his photos made too, so many outfits and options to choose from!!!

Kira has been a great photographer to work with. Having had some recent experiences with other family photographers, I can confidently say that what Kira provides is unique and makes everyone feel comfortable. We did maternity photos with our toddler who has been leery of photographers in the past (perhaps all pandemic kids are at this point?!) but he was instant friends with Kira. She put effort into engaging him and forming a relationship with all of us, so we also quickly signed up to have her do our newborn pics for our new addition. I’m pretty sure she can do anything that you envision, but even when you’re not sure exactly what you want, she can take your ideas and creatively bring them to life.
Kira is an artist and we highly recommend her!
