This beautiful little newborn baby’s Mama, Lauren, was someone that knew me back in Middle School here in Charlotte, NC! I was very awkward in Middle School and wasn’t very social, so Lauren and my paths didn’t cross much. But in 2018 I volunteered at an amazing photography event with Flashes of Hope at Levine Children Hospital. It was a festival for all the NICU graduates and I was there taking photos of the families. I didn’t actually photograph Lauren and her family (then just her husband and her little boy, Wyatt – who was a warrior NICU graduate himself), but she later saw my name tagged in a social media post from Flashes of Hope and reached out just to say hi!
Fast forward to 2020 and Lauren and her sweet family add a gorgeous little newborn baby to crew! She had continued to follow me over the years and when she asked me to do her daughter’s Newborn photos I was beyond ecstatic.
Madigan was such a perfect little baby for our newborn photography session here in Charlotte. I know I had so many things (maybe too many) that I wanted to capture during out photo shoot together and she just went right along with everything I had planned!
This is one of my all time favorite backdrops to pose a newborn girl on! I just love the muted purple tones and one of my new white lace romper’s was a perfect match! (Oh and guess what – I personally handmade the purple baby headband used in the photo above and below!)
One of my favorite matching tiebacks and outfits for Newborn girls!
It is always so much fun to create sets for each session. I love incorporate different textures of the same color scheme to create something beautiful like these images! I’ve been totally digging these monochromatic sets lately.
Big Brother Wyatt made us work for these shots as he wasn’t all that thrilled of having his new little sister being the center of attention all the time, but he was SO good. I cannot believe how many shots we got of them together!
Love trying to get everyone to smile, but of course you have to play around and have fun during a photo shoot especially when there are toddlers involved! It was so fun to test out my new lifestyle bedroom setup in studio to use for family photos during Newborn Sessions. Still lots of tweaking to be done – but it’s coming along!
If you made it this far, this is one of my favorite shots of dad and baby girl. I love catching that proud smile for Dads looking down at their new baby.
