Adorable Baby Boy’s Winter ONEderland Cake Smash | Kira Jeffrey Photography | Charlotte, NC

One of the best things about my job is getting to see some of my babies come full circle in the first year of life. I photographed Davis’ Newborn Session in their beautiful home on Lake Wylie, SC when he first came into this world last year. (I even got to capture his Fresh 48 at the hospital here in Charlotte!) And now, one year later Davis comes to my studio in Indian Trail to have me capture his first year cake smash!

Erin, Davis’ Mama, had a hard time deciding what the final theme should be for his Cake Smash for his first birthday. Which I totally get! There are so many fun ideas, it’s can be so hard sometimes to decide what to pick. When she finally landed on Winter ONEderland I was all in and the ideas started rolling. 

As I worked on creating the perfect set for Davis Cake Smash, Erin sent me a photo of this AMAZING fox outfit she had for him and that sealed the deal. I knew this was going to be one epic cake smash. 

I love getting to use local bakeries like Baked Well for these beautiful cake smash sessions at my studio!

Davis stuck out his tongue at me so many times during our session – I was so glad to see Mama loved some of those photos just as much as I did!

If that’s not the most adorable fox ever I don’t know what is?!

Davis was so excited for his smash cake and it finally made him sit still and focus since he was on the move the whole time trying to capture his “before” portraits!

I love it when they aren’t afraid to get dirty!

Hooray for turning ONE! (And eating cake.)
