Since I photograph a lot of newborns, I’m often asked “when should I book a photography session for my little one now that we have our newborn photos?”. Of course, I have a package that includes several special milestones leading up to the most popular choice – the one year smash! But what often gets forgotten is the two year milestone. Around two years old, your child no longer feels like a baby – they’re walking, talking, their birthday cake is no longer a foreign experience, but they’re also laughing at their own silliness, mimicking animal sounds and showing off that they know how to smile for a picture. The “terrible twos” get a bad reputation and I’m here to change that stereotype! Getting the family involved is also so much easier because your two year old is likely to give hugs, hold hands and interact with their siblings. Plus, two year old sessions can include interactive themes – teddy bear picnic (toddlers love parallel play and imaginative play), painting party, dinosaur dig, princess/superhero party, little chef kitchen or under the sea bubble party just to name a few! Whatever you choose, I promise you won’t regret capturing these memories.
